JUNIOR SECTION INFORMATION

Junior Section Organiser  - Mr. N. Rae

1. Junior Age range is normally  11years – 17years. Under certain circumstances the Council of Management may agree that the age may be lowered.
2. Juniors normally transfer to Gentleman’s section on their 18^th birthday. If they have already paid their junior subscriptions, these will be deducted from the Gentleman’s Subscription Rate.
3. If they have been a junior member for 12months they do not have to pay a Joining Fee when they transfer.
4. If a junior attains a handicap of 14.0 or less he may enter Gentlemen’s Tuesday Competitions (Off White Markers).  Entry to the sweep is not allowed.  Juniors may NOT enter Gentlemen’s Saturday / Sunday Club Competitions irrespective of handicap achieved - this includes team events. (01/09/08)
5. Once a junior member attains an exact handicap of 12.0 or less he may apply to transfer to the Gentlemen’s Section without having to pay a joining Fee - 12 months junior membership required.
6. Once transferred to the Gentlemen’s Section the member is    eligible to enter all weekly club competitions upon payment of all subscriptions and entry fees. This includes entry into TGC Open & Invitation events. (C.M. 03/03/08)
7. Upon transfer to the gentlemen’s section he may NOT compete in any Towneley G. C. Junior Section Competitions. However, he MAY represent Towneley G C in Junior Inter club league matches up to his 18^th Birthday. (C.M. 03/03/08)
8. Junior members of any golf club with an exact handicap of 12.0 or less may enter TGC Open & Invitation events.(C.M. 01/09/08)
9. Junior members with dual membership at another golf club MUST declare which club will administer their handicap BEFORE they enter any club competition.
